Finally finished....

with one quilt. Now I just need to get started on Ava's. It has taken me longer than I expected and I still need to rewash and fray the edges more on Morgan's blanket. Morgan's is pink/denim and Ava's will be purple/denim.

While I was at the sewing machine I decided to throw together a pillowcase dress for Morgan to use for dress up.

Happily ever after

I love the art that Morgan draws for me. She has such a fun, creative imagination and it shows through in the little pieces that she brings to me. Most of her drawing are about her and the fun things that she is doing, but ever since she saw Brian and I dressed up for the Marine Corps Ball, she brings me pictures of us as Prince and Princess. The night we went to the Ball I remember Morgan asking "Are you going to the dance and getting married?". You can't tell that she is fascinated with the fairy tales, can ya?!?! My little Princess!!!!

Slip and Slide

As soon as I got it set up the first thing Morgan asks "Is this side slip and this one slide?" The questions she asks....I mean, I can understand why she had that question, but she keeps me on my toes with all the things she asks about.....and it is constant. I just love her so much and she gives me a good laugh now and then :)

They both had a wonderful time running around and slip'n and slide'n!

Cookies

Today we made the best cookie ever!!! (Thanks Alisa!) It has become our family favorite and we can't wait for the first batch to get done. I had my little helpers with me and it was so much fun!

Early morning mist

I just took this picture one morning and thought it was really beautiful. There is just something about the sun coming through the mist and the trees. Thought that I would share :)

Lightning bugs.....

are out and about! We just noticed them tonight and it was so neat to see the sparkling going on outside. I just want to run around outside and beam my little light too...hahaha. I wish that I could catch it on camera but that's probably not gonna happen.

Trophy time!!

The time has come for Morgan to be done with soccer. She did such a great job! I am so proud of her. She had a fun icecream party with her teammates to celebrate and they all received their cute little trophy's for participating.

Tornado????

It has been a few days since the bad weather. I knew that we could get hurricanes here in North Carolina but a Tornado?!?! I guess it does happen.......one touched down in Morehead City(about 15 miles away). I get a text message for weather watch and warnings on my cell phone and the other day they kept coming. I kept an eye on the sky and it just went dark and then it hailed. Not a big deal, I know, but it seemed pretty intense at the moment. I wasn't sure what to expect and to tell you the truth....... I am not prepared for any kind of natural disaster. But all is well! There was a bunch of lightning, thunder, hail and the Lowe's store was a little damaged. Morgan did say "Mom, it's raining ice."
